It nullifies the effect of Shani Deva who is a fearful god causing malefic effect in the lives of people. The recital of Sundarkand ushers harmony into the household. It is performed as a community gathering during auspicious occasions like Ekadashis, house-warming, griha pravesh Puja and vastu Puja. Shri Satyanaryana Puja is often accompanied with the recital of Sundarkand.

How many chapters are there in Sundarkand?

When you recite Sundarkand, you must be prepared to read, narrate and understand the summary of sixty-eight chapters. It contains 2885 verses that describe the adventures of Lord Hanuman in the most beautiful manner and has references of beautiful places, mystical objects and gardens. It instils the faith on a Hindu to believe in good will of truth, honesty and courage.
